New Star Wars Movie May Be Set After Rise Of The Skywalker, Feature Familiar Characters

New details have come to light about the Star Wars movie from Lost’s Damon Lindelof and Oscar-winning director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. The film has yet to be officially announced, but The Hollywood Reporter shed some light on the project, including who is writing it and what the story could be.

Sources told the site that the film is envisioned as a one-and-done movie, but if it’s successful, there could be sequels. In terms of the story, the site’s sources said it may be set after the events of 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker, but it “would not be a continuation of the Skywalker saga.”

This film might have “some of the characters” from the latest Star Wars trilogy that spanned The Force Awakens (2015), The Last Jedi (2017), and The Rise of Skywalker (2019). The report did not say if any of the actors from those films will come back.
